A little gem of a hotel

For travelers who enjoy a bit of quirkiness instead of luxury, this is the perfect hotel. It is perfectly situated to enjoy the best parts of the city, with a tram stop in front, and the famous market about 5-6 blocks away in one direction, and shopping and restaurants galore in the other. Attached to the hotel lobby is a very fine Italian restaurant that should not be missed. The hotel staff are the best I have ever experienced. They are young, energetic, helpful, and efficient. In the small lobby is a bookcase filled with all sorts of things a traveler might need--shampoos and hair products, toothbrushes, combs, teas and coffee and many other amenities--there for the taking as needed. There is no large bar--instead, the small lobby has a petite bar and there is a pleasant lounge area on the second floor, adjacent to the breakfast room where people can congregate. Speaking of breakfast, it has everything expected at a European hotel. There are vegan and vegetarian options as well, and the coffee machine and hot tea water are available all day. The rooms--at first I was a bit put off because there was no closet or dresser nor a luggage rack. But there is a hanging apparatus with a few small shelves that worked just fine. There is a long chest that holds the coffee maker that I cleared for my suitcase, so once I got the room configured to my needs, I found it very pleasant and comfortable. The bathroom only has a shower that drains directly onto the floor (a wet room)--but it worked efficiently and the shower was good and strong. Although the sink is a stand-alone basin, there is a long ledge that held all my necessities. By the time I left, after 6 days, I kind of hated to go. I found the Klaus K to be a very pleasant, comfortable little boutique hotel that is proud of their unique, inclusive and welcoming vibe.

The hotel was in a great location, right in the city centre. The room was comfortable and offered coffee and tea bags. The breakfast had a variety of delicacies and was always of exceptional quality. The only downside is that the room's windows were not very insulated and some air was infiltrating the room. Cleaning of the room could have been more meticulous sometimes. Overall, a very good experience!

Our favorite hotel in Helsinki. The location is great, the rooms are lovely and very clean. If you get a room with a view to the street, you can open the window and listen to the sounds of the city. Otherwise it stays quiet. The hotel partners with the local Pride, and we have always felt welcome as a queer couple. No one has asked if we want to change the king sized bed to twins haha. Also, the hotel is quite plus size friendly: the rooms and toilets are spacious, there’s extra large towels and the sofas/chairs in the breakfast room are inclusive.

The breakfast buffet is spectacular with a big choice of vegetarian and vegan, too. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. Only "but": The rooms of part A are towards the street - the streetcars' noise can be hard. Part B is on the back side, but we don't know, how it is there...
