Clarion Collection® Hotel Bastion

We stayed in the family room which was perfect for our family of four, nice spacious adjoining room. The staff here are so friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to make your stay more comfortable. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. The evening light supper was just right for that time. Location is pretty handy and you can walk from the station, tram and bus stop. Easy stroll to the Opera House and centre.

Room was supposed to be a superior room but has NO windows with an outside view !!! Only a view to an inside place very unlikely

It was our second time in the hotel, and I will surely come again next time I'm in Oslo. The hotel includes breakfasts, evening meals and a cake every day, all of which are really good, with a nice variety for different testes, and with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options as well. There's also fresh and very tasty bread every day. All meals are being served in a form of the buffet, and the kitchen team takes great care for it to stay full at all times during the service. Hosts were always very friendly and helpful, and tables were cleaned very quickly, even in the most busy hours. The hotel room was rather small (standard one, two person, on 8th floor), but not to the point of feeling uncomfortable. Also, the small private balcony compensated for it more than enough. It was clean upon our arrival, decorated neatly and tastefully, in accordance to the price. It's important to know that the room won't be cleaned during your stay by default, but you can always ask for that service when you need it. All the staff was very friendly during our stay, and they were happy to help us with our questions and inquiries. There's also a place in the main hall, with coffee, hot chocolate and various tea types for the guests to enjoy whenever they like. Overall, the hotel is a very cozy place, with a warm, homey feeling to it, and we didn't lack anything during our stay. Definitely will come back in the future.

The hotel was easy to find from Oslo S, the central train station. (It's less than a 10 minute walk away.) Check in was quick and easy. I was anticipating storing my luggage until check in, but my room was ready when I arrived. Yes, the room is a little dated, but it was clean and had everything I needed for my stay. (There were 3-4 steps that I had to walk to get to my room.). They do have hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers in the bathroom, which I loved. The bed was comfortable. I didn't eat breakfast there, but the buffet looked like it had a lot of choices. I did eat cake in the afternoon and it was delicious. The evening meal looked good, but I was usually gone until close to the end of it. (The idea that a hotel serves you breakfast, cake in the afternoon, and dinner is unique.). The location is very convenient to most of Oslo, so I only took public transport once. The people at the front desk were very nice and helped me figure out the best way to get my flight out. Overall, I loved this hotel and will definitely stay again!
