Clarion Hotel® Trondheim

We had a very nice stay, first time at this hotel but not the last. Friendly staff Calm and clean room with a fantastic wiev over the Trondheimsfjorden

On a group tour of North Norway this was our first two night stop. Absolutely amazing breakfast selection and a really good 3 course evening meal. The standard double room was excellent and we slept really well. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel. Rooms are a good size and modern. Bed very comfortable. My only grip was asking for a large glass of pear cider (pint). Only to be given a wine glass full of ice and cider added last. YES LITERALLY A WINE GLASS. Cost £9.70 my friend had a single g&t £11.00.

We chose the hotel primarily for its convenient access to the port for our Havila cruise (8-min walk) but we were pleasantly surprised by its excellent amenities and amazing breakfast. It may have been a bit of a longer walk to the main shopping and dining areas of Midtbyen and Bakklandet (15 - 25 mins) but it was a good one-night base for our needs. The room was spacious, bright and clean. We slept well in the comfortable beds. The water pressure in the shower was good, made even better by the Rituals toiletries. The buffet breakfast was superb -- we were impressed by the large and tasty spread of hot and cold dishes, array of breads, fresh fruit and barista-made coffee. It was truly a meal worth lingering over and a highlight of our short stay.

I arrive at a room with a dirty toilet and shards of broken glass on the floor. The room was cold (below 19 degrees Celsius sometimes) and dark. The desktop lamp was broken. The hot water in the shower ran just for two or three minutes, becoming lukewarm after that. The wind from the outside made a howling sound when the room door was closed, making it impossible to sleep on a windy night. I found eggshells and dirt in the hotel breakfast, which I discovered by chewing on something “crunchy” and then taking a closer look at my plate. All in all, I expected way more. The staff was friendly.
