Clarion Collection® Hotel Uppsala

What a fantastic hotel! My stay was quiet and so comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly, they create a real family feel. The hotel serves breakfast and dinner included in the price with the dinner being home style cooking for the main meal with lovely selection of salads and a daily soup. Fika (afternoon tea) is also included and the Happy Hour (8.30-9.30) makes alcohol in Sweden a little more affordable. Simple but comfortable rooms made sleeping easy - this little gem had everything I needed!

The hotel is located near Uppsala train station. It's just 5 min walk. The Uppsala castle and cathedral is around 2 km from the hotel. Room is quite large, clean and comfortable. It's equipped with sofa, working desk, wardrop in the room. Bathroom with shower is large. Only liquid soap/ shampoo and hand soap are provided in the room. Breakfast is served on the lobby floor. The food is varieties both hot and cold dish. Dinner is also served in the same restaurant. It's all you can eat soup, baked beef steak with a lot of bread and salad. Taste is very good. Staffs are really good. They are kind and helpful.

Large room with both bathtub and shower, dinner buffet included, sauna with generous opening hours, good breakfast, great location next to the central station, friendly and helpful staff. The bathroom could use some refreshing and the view consisted of an office building across the street. Still, with so much included for the low price we had an amazing stay.

This hotel seems to have older ratings without reviews that don't reflect its current high quality. I'd say the level of the hotel is closer to a 3.5* than a 4* hotel, but I'd rather stay at an excellent 3.5* hotel than a slipshod 4* - and the Clarion not only hit all its marks, it over-delivered. The hotel is extremely convenient from the train station - literally down the block. Just head behind the Radisson Blu; it's immediately past it. It is a bit less well-situated for the Cathedral and Castle - about a 15 minute easy walk. Check in was friendly - there was typically one person on staff at any time, so you might wait. Rooms are in excellent condition, uncramped and typical Swedish modern decor: blond wood and Scandinavian design. The bathroom is also Scandinavian with a "wet" shower. Where the hotel outdid itself was in the food offerings, that were included in the room rate. You didn't just get an afternoon snack, and breakfast, it came with dinner. This is a huge bargain. Afternoon snack was small - coffee or tea and small brownie and cake squares. Dinner was a generous salad bar (very fresh), soup (did not try - I was too full), bread and roast pork with potatoes and haricots verts. Breakfast the next day represented the same above-and-beyond effort, a range of hot choices: bacon, eggs, Swedish pancakes, as well as bread, pastries, cereal and fruit. All meals were served buffet style; you don't get to order what you want and if you're a particular eater, this may not be a benefit. But they did make an effort to accommodate several dietary needs, and I found the food delicious. With that kind of value for the price, it's a no-brainer to stay here and I would absolutely go back if I'm in Uppsala again. The two trivial things that I felt could have made an excellent stay even better were a box of tissues in the room, and a small shelf near the shower to put your own toiletries or razor.

First of all the lobby is just beautiful! The room lies close to the center of Uppsala as well as the trainstation. The room is beautiful and they have Rituals lovely products at their hotel. The bed as well as the pillows are one of the best I have lied in for a long time. Dont know if they are selling the pillows but they should cause they are amazing! The staff was wonderfull and very serviceminding! There was breakfast times and the breakfast area is a bit small. I would have wanted to see the kitchen island to be moved to a corner now during Corona cause it did make tight places as well as one of the round tables where to close yo the kitchen island. Either than that it is a great hotel to stay over at and we will definitly come back again!
