Comfort Hotel® Vesterbro

Excellent value for money, very near to central station and metro. Outstanding breakfast. Lidl next door which is great in this expensive city. Rooms small but still great for a city break with everything you need. Bikes available to hire from hotel. Staff so helpful.

In general, chain hotels in the Nordics have a very, very low standard, and Comforts aren’t really known for their excellence, but this specific hotel manages to be even worse that usual. Okay, the location is pretty good, but the rooms are uncomfortable, cramped, nasty, poorly cleaned and freezing with lousy water pressure. To top it off, you could hear every single word from the room next door. You would have to be crazy to even considering returning.

It's a clean hotel at a great location however the customer service is appalling. We had a small personal parcel sent to this hotel, clearly addressed "for the customer xxx checking in on 04 April" on the package, however the hotel ruthlessly rejected it, saying "we don't provide post office service". We simply needed an address to receive it when we were travelling on holiday, and checking in & out every day. This doesn't require a function as post office, this has NOTHING to do with post office service. All they had to do was to receive and store it for about a week, as simple as that. But this hotel is exceptionally cold and indifferent, they rejected the parcel, knowing it costs them NOTHING to have kept this small item for a few days, now we have lost it forever. We have travelled to 68 countries together and have never seen any hotel as such, it puts a really dirty stain onto a wonderful and beautiful country called Denmark, it's just disappointing and disgusting. Lucky this is the last stop for our trip in Scandinavia, otherwise this unpleasant experience would have muddled up our entire holiday.

Pros: The breakfast buffet had good variety and the dining area was comfortable. The location is central and very walkable. Cons: It feels like a very low-budget hotel. The room is dark with no storage or place to unpack clothes except for 5 hangers on a rod. There is housekeeping service only every 4 days (?!) which we were not told about upon check in, so on our third day I went to the desk and they said it's for environmental reasons. Ok... but taking out the trash and replenishing toilet paper is a basic hotel service that has nothing to do with the environment. We were fine to keep our towels and sheets for 4 days but not having the room swept up or trash taken out for that long is ridiculous and disappointing that they do not disclose that when you check in (or when you make a reservation!). Lastly we didn't have hot water on our first night. The water was warm-ish but not comfortable to take a shower. The next morning I asked about it in reception and they said it could be because the hotel was full and to try again to see if it was working, and it was better for the rest of our stay, but having full occupancy shouldn't affect if people can have a hot shower! So many red flags we would definitely not stay here again.

It is located close to the central station. Employees are friendly and polite. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast is bountiful, delicious and fresh. The WiFi connection is stable. The price is reasonable. The ambience is clean, cosy and tranquil.
