Hotel Brosundet

This is an excellent hotel. It’s Nordic luxury—quiet luxury that becomes more and more apparent the longer you stay. The rooms, food, hostess, are top quality. We went to access Norwegian nature, and this is its hub central given the hotel’s connection with Nord62/ Uteguiden. The sauna and our quick after-jumps into the chilly water were added fun. Three dining options. Right on the water, with views. Highly recommend. My one ask is that they offer something gluten free and vegetarian for lunch and dinner. Everywhere else of a similar sophistication now does.

A fantastic hotel with a lovely ambience in a beautiful location on the fjord. It has a sauna, with a platform outside from which you can cool down by diving into the ice-cold fjord. The lounge area is situated around a real fire, which although small, seems to warm up the entire room, which stretches up to the top storey of the hotel. The aroma of the fire pervades the entire public area of the hotel. A nice restaurant, where we had a great plate of fish and chips. In the evening there is no piped music in the bar – just the crackling of the fire.

The hotel is situated in a central location and is great for exploring Alesund. It is also very stylish, from the lounge that you see with the large fireplace, to the rooms themselves. Unfortunately our room was not clean. Hair/fluff on chairs and floors, smudges on mirrors and taps, and hair on towels. The reception staff handled this well and were very apologetic, moving us to a different, upgraded room. Whilst this was much better, the cleanliness was still lacking. This is a shame as otherwise everything was excellent - including the sauna which we used later in the evening, and a wonderful breakfast the following morning!

This hotel is really solid, and for sure one of the best in Ålesund. The breakfast is very good. The Scandinavian modern design is cozy and luxurious, and overall, it’s a great place to stay. I’d say it’s way more of a nightly stay, than a luxurious experience. But the location is good, and all in all it’s a solid value. Ask for a room in the main building.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Alesund. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good and so was the food we ordered for dinner. Room was large and clean with a fantastic view. We had a car and so needed somewhere to park it - the hotel has a car park very close by but it’s pretty pricey.
