Comfort Hotel® Bergen

Hard to wheel bags from the railway station, because of cobbled roads. Lots of eating options and very easy reach from all the happening spots. The room was spotless and the bathroom had a vey good head of hot water. Towels can be replaced whenever needed. Breakfast was adequate.

As close to the airport as you can come. Literally a 5 minute walk from the airport. Simple rooms, simple service, simple breakfast buffet. A place to stay for a day or two while in transit. Quite far away from the city centre, so this isn't a place where you stay for a weeklong stay to tour Bergen as a city.

The hotel is in a very good location near to the harbour and about a 10 minute walk from the centre and a 15 minute walk from the train station. Our twin room was very comfortable and clean with a good sized bathroom and I really appreciated being able to open a window in the room. The self service breakfast was one of the best I have experienced. There was so much choice of both hot and cold food and I especially liked the variety of toppings available to add to yoghurt. I booked early so found the hotel to be excellent value for money, especially considering how expensive everything is in Norway.

We stayed in a superior double balcony room. Lovely views of the mountains, especially pretty at night. It was nice to leave the balcony door open for some crisp morning air. We found the room to be a comfortable size for two adults. The bed was comfy and provided a good nights rest. The complimentary breakfast was relatively satisfying with sufficient hot and cold options. Given it is a free buffet, there isn’t much to complain about. The fresh fruit was much enjoyed, I do have a soft spot for rockmelon and watermelon 🤣 Plenty of tables but best avoid after 8.30am if you want a little quiet. The hotel has many spots for relaxing in: the dining area, the lounge, the terrace. It was good, we grabbed a cold drink from the bar and relaxed with the free, fast WiFi in the lounge. Some areas for improvement: * a fridge is needed in the room!! We would have loved to have brought back local delicacies, drinks and cakes from the local shops but the room unfortunately did not have a fridge. * bigger bath towels would be good. Not quite long enough or fluffy enough for ease of use/drying. * the shower space is a little cramped. Maybe the doors can be replaced with a curtain for more space. Other than that, with its great service and location mere minutes from shops, groceries, cafes and restaurants, I’d rate the stay a solid 8/10 and would recommend it. Hot tip: The local crepe cafe is a must-try! Delicious!

Just come back from a stay in the Comfort Hotel Bergen. It was absolutely fantastic! Here are the highlights: Staff - all of the staff we came across had extremely good English and were happy to help with any queries we had. They clearly know their way around Bergen and were able to tell us where things were and recommend restaurants. Location - okay, there are a couple of other hotels which are closer to the centre of Bergen, however this is no more than a 5 minute walk to the quay (where you can take most boat trips), about a 10 minute walk away from Byparken (which is the nearest Tram station, i.e. where you can get the tram to/from the airport) and about a 10 minute walk away from Bergen train station. All very easy to find, with the help of google maps and a map that was given to us when we checked into the hotel. The tram especially was amazing, so easy to find and get on (I'd recommend downloading the Skyss app to purchase tickets) and helpful that Byparken is the end of the line, so can easily get a seat for you and your suitcase. Room - yes it is slightly basic, but what was there we could not fault. The bed was extremely comfortable, I liked that there were separate duvets for each side of the bed. The TV worked very well, there was a hairdryer, and the shower was nice and hot with good pressure. The only thing I found was that the towels were not that big, but that is not a huge problem at all. The room was also very clean, and I do not mind at all that there is no housekeeping service. Breakfast - a large array of choice, and the staff kept refreshing it with new items. Fruit, cereal, a selection of hot food, huge choice of breads and of course coffee and juice. I was very happy to see overnight oats and chia pudding also! It all tasted very fresh. Common areas - there were a few things we didn't use so cannot comment on (gym, table tennis...) but the rest of the common areas were great. I noticed there was a "rent a powerbank" service too which is very thoughtful, and also "rent an umbrella" which seemed a good idea too! Price - we visited in March, so obviously not peak time, but we found it to be extremely good value. Overall we would absolutely stay here again! :)
