Our ferry arrived around noon and so went to this hotel where we had reservations, but for the first time ever and in spite of rooms being available and ready, we were required to pay 200NOK because we arrived before the 15:00 check in time. And no, they won’t give you 200 NOK if you leave before checkout time. We took a walk instead, and thankfully they did allow us to store our luggage in their very crowded closet. The message? - we will bleed money out of you. When we did check in at 15:00, that went fine. But getting off the elevator is weird: no signage. Just an open stairwell. No marked door to the rooms. No signage there at all. We figured it out with by guess and by golly, but then later leaving our room we tried to find that elevator again. Hmm. Where is it? No signage at all. Oh. There’s an unmarked door, and sure enough, there’s that stairwell again with the elevators. So we have some new experiences here. I wonder what else the next two days here will bring

Cheap and nasty but high prices

A lousy, poorly managed, cheapskate hotel pretending to be 3 star and overcharging customers. Reception is shabby and cluttered, the first thing you see is a beer pump, then the lifts, one was broken the other shabby with screws showing on the wall and the floor indicator upside down! Our room was far too small to be called a double and the window only opened a crack. Poor bed, slightly smelly room. Cheapskate breakfast, everything cheap, poor choices. We left after the first night to stay at the Hordaheimen 100m away -much better, a proper hotel. When my wife complained about the shabby lifts, the barception (!!!!) guy actually spoke the words "thats not my problem". This hotel charges the same prices as much better hotels nearby for a third rate service. Don't stay here!

Stayed with a friend for a long weekend. The room was basic but comfortable, we took out own travel kettle, tea, coffee etc. as these aren't supplied but other than that everything you need for a short stay. Whoever we spoke to on reception/bar was always very helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of both cold continental and cooked options available. We ordered a breakfast box 1 day as we had an early start for a Fjord trip, what was supplied well exceeded our expectations. There was fruit, open sandwiches and juice enough for both breakfast and lunch. If you have a drink in the hotel definitely go up to the roof top terrace, we were fortunate to have great weather and it was nice to have a drink up there looking over the rooftops. The hotel is in a good location with a few cafes, restaurants and small supermarket a few minutes walk away and around 10-15 mins walk from the main fish market area. If you walk in the opposite direction to the end of the Peninsular there's a small park with a panoramic viewing point. Overall extremely happy with this hotel and would definitely used again for a short stay

Excellent location if arriving in Bergen by Norled Express ferry, on Nordnes peninsula. Quiet street-side room, one level up from street. One-way traffic only on the street and no heavy commercial traffic. Pretty quiet overall. Room at back of building may be even quieter, since a view isn’t a thing at this hotel. Comfortable mattress, shower with enclosure walls, excellent breakfast buffet with wide variety of food. Pleasant, helpful staff. After walking on the other side of the harbor (Bryggen neighborhood) we were glad our hotel was in Nordnes neighborhood since it took us away from the cruise ship crowds. Only complaint was the temperature throughout the hotel was pretty warm. Could have been because Bergen was unusually sunny and warm during our stay, but we heard the same thing from someone else who had stayed there 3 weeks earlier. We would choose the hotel again.
