Quality Hotel™ Sogndal

This is a nice hotel in Sognal. It is very centrally located right along a nice creek and near everything in town. The layout is a little weird. If you park in the back in the parking garage (which you have to pay for) you have to walk around the parking lot, up a ramp, through the restaurants, and into the lobby. There is a really old wing and a new wing. Our rooms were in the new wing. The larger restaurant only serves tour groups. The smaller restaurant is open to all guests but has a much more limited menu. The rooms were very comfortable and mine had a nice patio door with a view of the creek and mountains.

We were booked in this hotel thru an agency who had set up a tour for us. Our room was modern, clean and comfortable; great pillows. We had supper at the burger restaurant that was very good. Breakfast buffet the following morning was outstanding. Would recommend to anyone staying in Sogndal.

No tea/coffee in the room Air conditioning ineffective When asked for a table fan was told that nothing availability as hotel is fully booked, i think table fan was requested at the time of booking. When room phone to contact reception from the room. If o use my mobile phone have to incur phone charges. No proper signs for a traveler to reach reception while driving. We could not sleep had to open windows a security hazard. They must compensate us.

Nice hotel with easy, paid parking. Very clean hotel. Good breakfast buffet. Our room had a juliet balcony. Bathroom had heated floor. We had dinner at the attached burger place which was really good.

The hotel is in a good location. Our room was on the 6th floor and looked very nice but there was nothing to put suitcases on, no safe and no kettle. There was almost no storage and a tiny hanging space with 4 coat hangers. Fine if you are on a short break but not helpful if it’s a long holiday. The plus side was a bedroom window which opened and we could sit in the sun looking at the view, Given the cost of the room, it was a surprise that we also had to pay for parking. Breakfast was good but busy and staff were struggling to keep up with replenishing food and crockery. When leaving the room, it didn’t seem to lock unless you swiped the key card.
