Clarion Collection® Hotel Aurora

Had a wonderful time at this hotel in Tromso. Complementary breakfast, afternoon coffee/cake and an evening meal. Also tea, coffee and water available free in the lobby 24/7. The restaurant went out of their way to accommodate my wife being vegetarian. On that note, have to say the star of the stay was Isak from the restaurant who went above and beyond to look after us all, an amazing member of staff. Thank you.

Customer service and cheerfulness, helpfulness, generosity and kindness of the staff is what touched our hearts. The hotel itself exudes with positivity because of their customer centric approach. Particularly we would like to thank, Filli and Isaac. Can't thank them enough for their help and kindness. Other staff we would like to thank are Alexander, Marie, Zaya. All other staff in the restaurant were also very good Housekeeping is excellent. Our room was spacious and had a big bathroom too. We are so glad that we stayed three separate nights in this hotel. Food was excellent and breakfast and dinner spread was really good. They served organic juice in breakfast. The evening complimentary cake, biscuit is just an added plus and the 24 hr complimentary coffee and tea vending machine just shows how generous the hotel is and how committed they are to guest satisfaction and happiness. We had kept Tromso as a base city to do travel in and around Norway . We also left our large suitcase in hold with them when we had to do a three day trip to Andenes by Best Arctic Bus. It was easier to do this bus travel with a smaller luggage. The location is excellent. Walking distance to starting points to all tours, airport bus stops, local bus transportation and important landmarks. It is just 5 km from the airport. It was a good start and a good end to a very good holiday. We have already recommended this hotel to our friends and family.

I bought a summer pass, so it's only 85e per night. We stayed in the standard double room. The room is a bit small as it is located closer to the harbor. But if the room is further, then the room is bigger. The hotel’s location is perfect if you want to stay next to the harbor. With this hotel, you’ll get a free breakfast, afternoon coffee with cakes, and dinner! We stayed there for 3 days and we never feel hungry 😝. Note that if you go for the late breakfast, there might not have everything in place. For example, salmon is no longer available One thing I would beg from the hotel is to also serve fried egg & bacon separately. I’m a fan of bacon but not fried egg 😏., Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. The staffs are very nice & friendly too. Hope to be back again soon

A bit pricy for a simple room but it's still worth it. Pros: Great Location Great Breakfast Buffet Clean room Sauna Cons: Price Breakfast has to be done in the hotel across the street due to the renovation at the time of our staff Can be overly crowded during breakfast time because of 2 hotels sharing the breakfast area. Room cleaning is not every day

This place is a gem for so many reasons but the staff make it so. I had read reviews talking about how small rooms were or complaining about food but I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s centrally located, a min walk from the bus stop hence easy to get to from airport (20-30mins) & close by to the cathedral and a few other places. Tromso is small & cashless so you can easily walk about & explore. The people are generally very nice & chilled out! The hotel has an open air hot tub (small charge) & need to book a slot to go but sauna is open to all daily without booking & is nice after a day out in the snow. The room was an ok size, not as small as I expected & it was quite warm despite the sub zero temps outside. There are no tea facilities or fridge in the basic rooms (I brought my own travel kettle), but there are 24/7 tea/coffee/hot drinks available downstairs. I was expecting minimal food being vegetarian but I coped well. Breakfast was sufficient & there’s an afternoon fika (tea & cake, biscuits etc) from about 3-5pm & dinner is early from 6pm. The ‘light’ dinner is also ample, I had emailed hotel ahead about dietary requirements & unbeknownst to me they prepared plant based dishes especially for me which I was impressed by! Apart from that there was soup, salad & pasta so it was actually very good (a heartfelt thank you to Isaac & the kitchen team). The staff all round were so lovely & helpful which makes a big difference. I really enjoyed my stay, it’s a cosy little hotel & I would definitely recommend it as the place to stay if visiting Tromso & a great base to go on tours.
