Clarion Collection® Hotel With

Second time we have stayed this year. The views from the harbour view rooms are worth every penny. Breakfast, dinner and fika are a bonus too. Staff are very professional, pleasant and helpful. We have slept well each night in a comfy, warm and more than adequate room. I am not putting photos of the hotel but I have put view from the room. Aurora from bedroom is a treat - I know it’s not guaranteed but Mother Nature has been kind to us.

Hotel was adequate, a little aged and probably due for a refresh. The breakfast was yummy, and we only tried dinner one of the nights we stayed - it was delicious. A small selection of food, but everything was cooked well. 4stars because we have to wait an hour after the checkin opened for our room to be ready.

Excellent experience with the best location and views, the staff was really nice and helpful, breakfast and rest of the meals that they offered were great, the location was close to everything: tours, restaurants, and shops. Totally recommend to stay at.

Enjoyed the stay at this hotel. Room Even though it is a Clarion chain, (sign up for Strawberry chain account and you get a discount on the Clarion hotels) it has a charming boutique hotel vibe. The hotel's theme is nautical. Each room is named after a ship. Tromso is a small town so it is very close to everything. It is right on the waterfront. Thanks to Henda (sp? ) , we got a room on the 5th floor overlooking the waterfront and the bridge to the Arctic Cathedral. The view was lovely. Note that there is no room safe and no face tissue. The electric lock on the door can be a little glitchy. Service Every staff we interact with were helpful and nice. Location This is a great location especially if you take the airport bus. The bus stop for this hotel is Scandic Ishavhotel. In summer time, this would be perfect. It is a short walk (150M) from the stop to the hotel through a parking lot. In winter time i.e., when there was snow and ice, this short walk while pulling your suitcases over the inches or feet of snow or sheets of ice were painful! for us! It is unreasonable to expect the parking lot can be plowed continuously and I recognize that hope you have good timing when you need to make that walk to and fro the bus stop. Food Our room includes breakfast and dinner. the restaurant offers 24 hour coffee and water. The hotel also offers cake in the afternoon. We didn't try the cakes as they were "supermarket" looking. We rather went out to buy pastries or cakes from the various bakeries in town. Since most of the Northern Light tours starts around dinner time, you most likely won't be able to take advantage of it. However, the dinner offering was decent and worth checking out. I do enjoy the breakfast. Small selections but good. All in all, I would definitely go back and stay there if we are back to Tromso .

The rooms are worn and in need of renovation. Nice staff and If it had not been for them this would be a sad stay. The prices does not reflect the standard.
