Clarion Hotel® Post

Perhaps a little biased as we had just come from a beautiful hotel in Stockholm. I found the hotel dark, a bit grubby & in public areas had a smell of old beer & sweat. The lobby is very uninviting & feel it needs a renovation or freshen up. Breakfast buffet was extensive & adequate but when you are fighting with a 650 person conference at 8.30 in the morning not so pleasant. Also we are on holiday so I object to having to say when I will come down for breakfast. On the plus side the reception staff were lovely. Beds comfortable & rooms clean. Good central position but can’t say the experience a joy!!

Central, good prices and very comfortable. I can say that Post is one of my favorite hotels in Göteborg! The building is also very beautiful and magnificent - a bit more sad for the modern addition that is not really in my taste from an architectural perspective. Very nice also to see that some parts of the interior have been preserved and that the fact that this was an old post office is visible in decorations spread allover the lobby. The staff at the check in was cordial but a bit peculiar. Some of the questions were a bit inappropriate for the mere purpose of checking in. Additionally, I never got the points automatically registered after providing my hotel program number - I had to send an email after my trip. Despite the weirdness of the checkin, the stay was nice. The hotel room was spacious and with a lot of light coming from the windows and an ok view over the hotel surroundings. I was not disturbed by the traffic. The room had a very nice desk, a comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. It fit my "requirements" also with space on where to put my items both in the bathroom and in the room. The breakfast was quite nice, but a bit crowded and some parts of the area were a bit dark. There was abundance of everything one would like for breakfast and the quality seemed very good. I hope I will have more opportunities to try out what more Post has to offer!

After staying in two other hotels in Sweden/Denmark, this hotel is tops for me! The rooms are very updated with large bathrooms, which have very nice robes (always a plus!) and fluffy, large towels. The fitness center was very modern and spacious, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever seen! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I found the price (about $180/night) very good for two twin beds. The hotel is next to the central train station and a quick walk to lots of shops and restaurants.

A beautiful hotel , close to public transportation. The meals were fabulous. The dinner meal was delicious, and the breakfast buffet exceptional, with numerous choices to satisfy your appetite. The rooms were very nice, with comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel, should you be visiting Gothenburg.

Things were stolen from luggage while at the hotel storage on Saturday July 8, 2023. Upon arrival at around 8.30 we were given a card to the storage but we were NOT informed that the storage is not guarded in any way and that we leave the luggage unattended. There were also no signs indicating that the hotel does not take responsibility for the storage. The reservation confirmation info doesn't say that either: Luggage storage We offer luggage storage before and after your stay.. After collecting the luggage from the storage, we noticed that an Iphone, cable and charger were missing from the suitcase (I left my spare one in it). I went to the reception and only then was informed that the hotel does not take responsibility and that I should go to the Police. After my protests the staff started calling the police. While we were waiting for the connection, my phone suddenly appeared. According to the staff, it was found in an empty room by the cleaning service. Still no charger and cable, but as there was no connection with the Police for 20 min I let it pass and bought new. Only after leaving the hotel, my 12 year old daughter noticed that things from her purse were missing! The purse was in her backpack in the storage and in the room and she did not take it out during our stay. Things stolen from my daughter: a debit card, a city transport card and ca 35 euro. Despite information that some things were stolen on Saturday, on Monday nobody took any action to look through the cameras and let me know what could have happened. No reaction, no nothing! If the hotel doesn't take action this may happen again to someone.
