Clarion Hotel® The Pier

We stayed at the clarion hotel the pier one night in August on our scandinavian road trip. Its not in the center of gothenburg but on the other side of the river gota. So much construction and traffic. But we made it to the nice comfy hotel. There's paid underground parking. Very friendly staff and clean hotel. Rooms are a lil small. Beds were ok but pillows very soft. Breakfast buffet is included in price. It was the usual breakfast food and good specially the breads. There's buses and ferries into the city though we did not take them. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Convenient location for the city centre. Excellent public transport, with nearby bus stop and a free ferry service. Junior Suite quite compact but with a well-equipped kitchenette. Plenty of hanging space for clothes though no drawers and few shelves. Good breakfast with plenty of variety. No vegetarian sausages. Exceptionally helpful and pleasant reception staff.

No parking whatsoever, ang the garage was full already at lunch when we arrived. The bar closes wery early and guests are not allowed to stay seated in the loby area. The sauna and bgym closes to early. No morning papers at breakfast, which one expects at good expensive hotels.

Breakfast was low quality and just frozen food from supermarket that was warmed up There was no parking as mentioned in the website Location was in a construction area so it was tough to access

The best part of this stay was Andres at the rooftop bar. After the first night he knew our drinks. We lost a card to our deck of cards while hanging out and he gave it back to us the flowing night. We told him we threw the deck away because we lost the card. The next night, he brought a deck of cards with him for us. This guy is top notch, definition of hospitality. The breakfast is beyond belief. Pastries, eggs, bacon, fresh bread, cheese, charcuterie, juices, smoothies, a coffee robot that makes all kinds of coffee drinks. Breakfast is FREE, and would easily cost $30-40 per person elsewhere. A short drive to downtown, comfortable beds, nice staff.
