Icehotel

I’ve wanted to visit since the ice hotel opened. When I read about ice hotel 365 it seemed a must-visit for our summer trip to Lapland. I booked a suite with bathroom, which although quite pricey was a good decision. In the summer the only other building open apart from reception was the restaurant a couple of hundred metres away. Without our bathroom/warm area there would have been nowhere to hang out. Check in was easy and the hotel was very quiet indeed. I’m not sure there was anyone else staying in the cold rooms apart from us. What hits you when you enter (apart from the cold, which isn’t actually too bad) is the muffled silence. It was very peaceful and as a light sleeper I had an unexpectedly good nights sleep. We went to the restaurant, which was excellent. My reindeer fillet was amongst the best meals I’ve eaten in Sweden. After eating we hung out in our warm area for a bit. There are chairs but they are a bit uncomfortable. A sofa would have been nice. We decided to take the plunge and go to bed at about 11. I wasn’t expecting to sleep at all but our ice bed was very comfortable and the sleeping bags really toasty. I did need to get up in the night but was sleeping in slipper socks so it was ok. We didn’t really make use of the room apart from to sleep in. I did find myself asking why we chose to sleep in an ice room. I’m still not sure I can answer that. The downside of the trip and the reason for only 3 stars came when we were leaving. We came back from breakfast around 9.30, packed up and wanted to look around the rest of the rooms and take photos. As I was doing so 2 members of staff came up to me and said the hotel wasn’t open. I explained I was a guest but they said I wasn’t allowed. I asked how I was supposed to check out of my room then and they said check out was at 9am and I should have left by now. Nowhere was this written or explained. I felt really upset that two of them had come to challenge me as if I was some kind of intruder. The art-work is really special and I would have liked to know a bit more but there was no leaflet or guide to explain it. I think there may be a better vibe in the winter but it was a bit of an odd experience for us.

The ice Hotel is So wonderful place and Around Area all ice of Art . So Fantastic and Perfect location in Hotel of Bed Room by Ice is Cool under - 5 ° .. All good and amazing in the world so Exciting for Anyone can come here. Snow skies stars Perfect.

We stayed in the Icehotel 365 for one night and had 2 nights in a two bedroom apartment. The icehotel was stunning and the art incredible. What made our stay so memorable was the amazing staff. Our host Linnea provided exceptional service when we checked in and my husband was unwell. She told us where to get the best views of the Northern Lights which put on a lovely display on our first evening. Lily at the IceBar did a great job explaining the various cocktails and telling us about the local area. I recommend getting out and experiencing the additional activities on offer at the Icehotel. We had a fantastic three hour fishing trip with Lasse where our son caught an enormous pike! We also enjoyed a wilderness dinner hosted by Lasse - the food and wine were delicious and the company excellent! We hired bikes and rode around the area. Thanks also to Ida who helped us out with the Swedish website when our train to Gällivare was replaced by a bus. Our family is hoping to come back one winter to experience Lapland in another season!

Simply loved it. We did lots of research before going, which all said how cold it could be. However, sleeping systems used are amazing, I've slept in the open in both Canada and Norway in the past, and yes, cold, but not here. It was very pleasant, and we both had a great night's sleep, followed by a sauna and hot shower. Plenty to do, including grabbing a beer in an ice glass. Again a must. Food was amazing, staff was amazing. If you're thinking of going, you should.

This extraordinary hotel concept is so unique that it simply has to be experienced. It is nothing short of a fantastic experience. There’s a wealth of activities around the hotel, including dog sledding, reindeer tours, snowmobile safaris, and horseback riding—each one highly recommended. Both the hotel and its surroundings embrace sustainability with great respect for the beautiful nature and the outdoors. This is a unique experience and a one-of-a-kind hotel that must be experienced.
