It was a one day family trip for us, we had a family room. We enjoyed our stay, very happy with room standard and breakfast. The dinner in The Social was a perfect ending of our busy day after late evening match for kids. The staff were very nice and helpfull. We will definitely come back again!

On the reception too.On top bad and crowded breakfast and took very long to go up/down (few/slow elevator system for such a big hotel). Best to avoid… many better options in the area at that price range.

As a manager at the hotel industry for Marriott, I can tell it’s pretty much rubbish to refuse to check in someone at 14, making them wait until 15. It is practically impossible not having rooms ready by that time. People start to check out early in the morning, so by the time it’s even 12, Hsk service already have had the time to clean lot of rooms. The policy of check in time at 15 it is usually in every hotel, but it is always up to the receptionists to be nice and give the rooms as soon as they are ready. Well, this is not the hotel with nice and kind staff. We were coming to the city for an event at 16 and the rush to be ready by that time while we were waiting for the room for that long made us be pretty much late. The management of this hotel should get new staff if they want this hotel to work because we are definitely not coming back and we will make sure our Norwegians and Swedish friends and family do not waste their time and money coming here.

Modern hotel - down points: lack of cleaning, unloved food, queues to lifts and a location slightly off

I stayed at the hotel for 8 nights together with my three children to visit family. The modern rooms had a nice view. We stayed at the 12th floor. There were, however, a few issues that would lead to us choosing another hotel next time: Cleaning: the guests have to request cleaning of the rooms. I requested cleaning for every day when checking in. When I hadn't received cleaning the first day, I went to the reception and made the request once more. Since this reminder didn't give any result, I made a second reminder on the evening of day three. Subsequently, the room was cleaned on day four and on day five. Thereafter, there wasn't any trace of the cleaners despite reminders. When you spend most of the days away from the hotel, you expect that the requests are complied with. The reception confirmed that cleaning every day was inserted in the computer system. When travelling with children, cleaning is a necessity. Having to go to the reception in order to receive new toilet rolls and towels was a novel and frustrating experience. All in all, to stay at a hotel 8 nights and get the room cleaned twice was a novel and unacceptable experience. Restaurant: we ate in the hotel restaurant twice. Although it was appreciated that the hotel offered a child menu (buffet), the food was quite unloved (burned burgers, soggy nuggets, fries, etc.). The fish of the day was excellent, while the burger, the escalope / wienerschnitzel, and pasta weren't exactly memorable. Despite few clients, the staff routinely asked for 10 minutes to get a table ready. Some preparations would have been appropriate. Breakfast: More love to the cooking (bacon burnt to a crisp and swimming in fat, scrambled eggs not creamy, factory made pancakes sometimes not properly heated, etc.) would have been nice. The räkröra was a nice touch, as was the possibility to take coffee with you in a paper mug. Reception: apart from the chaos with the cleaning of the room, we got our delayed luggage delivered to the hotel at 5 pm (we found out later). At noon the next day, we went to the reception asking for it and received it after staff looked in a few places. They had apparently just placed it behind the reception without bothering to call us or otherwise leave a message Elevators: the hotel has 21 floors and four lifts. During our stay, one lift was out of order 7 days and a second one for two days. Even with three out of of four lifts working, it was very difficult to get from the room down to the reception and the breakfast. It took some people 20 minutes to get a lift, while it took us 15 minutes the first day and the second day we had to take the stairs (from floor 12). Location: the location is slightly off, meaning that you have to take the tram (or your car) for meals, shops and touristic activities. The tram goes into town quite quickly, but is slightly tiring for evening meals when travelling with children. A good tip is to buy a 24h or 72h travel pass for the tram. One adult can travel with up to three accompanying children (460 SEK for 72h or 230 SEK for 24h). Please note that you need to buy the one for zones A+B if your intend to visit Gothenburg.

Sleep in unmade bed, in rooms overflowing with trash, for full price

They do not do house cleaning if you stay for more nights. They claim to do it if you ask, but they don't. Even if we explained that we have children with diapers, and want our beds made. After three days in one room with small children, trash is overflowing and beds are messy. Not a good holiday feeling. Other than this, the breakfast is okay, but not impressive. Beds are on the cheap and hard side, so would not recommend.
