Strawberry
Accessibility Statement
At Strawberry, we believe in Room for All. Accessibility is not just a compliance requirement - it improves the experience for every guest and user, regardless of ability.
We work continuously to ensure that our website and booking system meet the EU Web Accessibility Directive and conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA — what we call strong accessibility.
This statement applies to Strawberry website and the Strawberry mobile app (iOS and Android).
Our approach
Accessibility is owned by cross-functional teams, with representatives from across our product development organisation. Each product team is responsible for achieving WCAG 2.1 AA within its area. Our work includes automated testing, continuous monitoring through web accessibility dashboards, and usability testing conducted with people with disabilities - enabling us to identify and address issues on an ongoing basis.
Assessment method
This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by Strawberry.
Compliance status
Strawberry website and the Strawberry mobile app (iOS and Android) partially meet the requirements of WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Some older pages on our website do not currently meet accessibility requirements. We are working to phase out all such pages.
For users with visual impairments and/or reduced colour vision
- Some pages lack a correct heading hierarchy, making it difficult for screen reader users to navigate efficiently. - WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.6
- Several images within promotional links and destination cards have empty alt attributes, meaning their content is not described to screen readers. - WCAG 1.1.1
- Some form elements do not correctly announce errors or loading states to screen readers. - WCAG 4.1.3
- Some elements are missing ARIA labels, making them difficult for screen readers to interpret. - WCAG 4.1.2
- Some pages are missing a skip-to-content link, requiring screen reader users to navigate through the full header on every page. - WCAG 2.4.1
- Some instances of insufficient text-to-background colour contrast have been identified. - WCAG 1.4.3
For users with motor impairments
- The destination search field has autocomplete disabled, preventing autofill suggestions that would reduce typing. - WCAG 1.3.5
- Some interactive elements and menus are not fully reachable or operable using a keyboard alone. - WCAG 2.1.1
For users with cognitive difficulties
- The hotel listing page heading appears at multiple heading levels, creating a confusing structure. - WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.6
- Some form fields lack clear and persistent labels. - WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.6
