Clarion Hotel® Helsinki

This is a typical conference hotel. Food is good but... - too few well trained staff at chech-in, long queues of people - rooms are small, the shower leaks, mini-bar fridge is on but warm, soap dispensars are poor quality - NO SERVICE LIFT! Staff have to use guest lifts with their linnen trollies resulting in endless waiting times - One lift has been out of order for more than a week! Nice view of the harbour.

A new hotel conveniently inside the terminal hall. This time I only stayed overnight and cannot say anything of ather services than the room. The colours are dark. Room not too big, comfortable for one passanger with bags, not sure for two. No real closet or drawers, space for 2-3 ? hangers behind sliding panel, would not accommodate several suites or jackets. A small working desk. Quiet airconditioning. Bed very good andall lights can be comfortably managed from bed. Bathroom also to the compact side but works well, also spoce for toiletroes. No bidet shower. No toiletries except a soap container on the wall, that is, no face paper, no shower cap, no body lotion. Surely recommendable for a single airpassanger for one night.

Great value, conveniently located in front of Tram 7 stop and near Tram 9 stop, approximately 12 minutes from Central Helsinki station. High point goes to the sauna and the swimming pool in the top 16 floor with great view. Breakfast is also great with variety of foods. Supermarket is also nearby.

Stayed in the hotel for a night in August 2024. The room was nice, though quite small, the rooms have great views. good location.excellent breakfast. Rooftop bar has a good selection of cocktails. If you are in Finland you bathe in a sauna, feel free to combine this with a dip in a cool pool. nice experience

This was my second stay at the Clarion Helsinki, and the first post-COVID. The hotel is still a fantastic option in Helsinki, but it definitely was starting to show some significant wear and tear a few years after my first stay. The standard double room was well designed, though the bathroom is a little on the small side. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and there was ample working space in the room as well. The hotel is split into a light/dark decor theme based on the tower your room is in - the dark design definitely was executed better, but our stay in a "light" room also had good style. We did notice a decent amount of of scuff marks, wobbling handles, broken light fixtures etc. in our room and across the hallways. It wasn't inhibiting to the stay, but it was noticeable after a few days. There's a great rooftop pool that's really the highlight of the hotel, with fantastic views across Helsinki. Service was extremely friendly and efficient, as it was during my last stay too. Breakfast was free and comprehensive, with many options beyond a usual hotel spread (e.g., vegetarian and vegan options) which was appreciated. The location is a little of out the city center, but it's directly on two transit stations which made it a <10 trip into the middle of the city. Overall, this is still my go-to in Helsinki, but the property could use a little bit of love as it starts to age to keep it modern and fresh.
