This hotel is one of the best hotels in Helsinki, because it is so unique compared to other hotels. The rooms are clean and stylish. We had also a bathtub in our room and it was perfect. Beds were also very comfortable. Breakfest was amazing and varied. Stuff was very nice and made us feel very special. Hobo hotel has also many events and that is why I like to visit there often.

Hotel Hobo is a nice, very contemporary hotel in the middle of Helsinki. The location is excellent and you can easily walk to the Art Museum and the famous Finnish Design Centre (and, on a more commercial note, Stockman, the fabulous department store) The staff are very friendly (in a subdued way) and the bar nice and buzzy in the evening. But there are a few down sides. There is virtually nowhere to store your clothes and your rooms are not cleaned unless you specifically request it (personally this did not bother me that much) The airconditioning/heating was impenetrable though reception did say I could have spoken to them and they would have explained it. I was actually was a bit cold at times. Could they not leave some instructions in the room? The decor of the room is very Scandi design (ie. very clean lines, quite basic but also quite stylish) The bathroom is reasonably large (just a shower) with no one use cosmetics like shampoo and body cleanser (of course!!) They're immovable big bottles-fair enough, I suppose, but not very glamorous. There are not really any views (that I could see) but this hotel is really about location, location, location. It is behind the grand and very stately Hotel Kamp which is currently being renovated and redecorated (and not before time!). Breakfast is a buffet breakfast, something I particularly dislike, though most hotels seem to be doing it. However I must say that the choice and standard of the ingredients was very high. The breakfast room is weird-it seems to be underground although, in fact, it is on the second floor. It is quite unpleasant and unwelcoming. I would not stay in the hotel for breakfast as there are many lovely pastry shops and breakfast places nearby. I would really recommend Hobo but don't expect any luxurious little touches-there aren't any! Still, it's very nice..... PS I am one of the 10% of the UK population who does not have a mobile phone (actually about 6 million of us) and I found communicating with the outside world and ESPECIALLY with other rooms in the hotel very challenging as there is no telephone system. I think for this reason I shall probably not be returning.
