Want to spend the night in a piece of art?

The winter section of the Icehotel is recreated every year with the help of ice sculptors from all over the world! And you can experience the magic at any time year! Since 2016, the hotel has had a 2,100-sqm indoor section that is open all year round, maintaining a constant temperature of -5°C. So, even when it’s a hot summer’s day, you’ll be able to sleep in a bed made from ice in one of our many hotel rooms and suites. During the day, the suites form part of an art exhibition that can enjoyed by hotel guests and visitors on a day out! Don’t like the cold? There are various kinds of accommodation available here at the hotel – you can, for example, rent a cottage or sleep in a traditional Lavvu tent.

More than just a hotel

The Icehotel is best known for its unique hotel concept, but there’s lots more to be seen here! With a packed calendar all throughout the year, you’ll be able to experience concerts, fashion shows, car exhibitions and operas on an ice stage while you sit on a cosy fur skin enjoying a refreshing “on the rocks” cocktail from our Icebar! Getting married? Then book one of the world’s most unique wedding venues with space for up to 40 guests in the chapel. Perhaps the ice won’t last forever, but the memories certainly will. A trip to Jukkasjärvi is not complete without participating in some Arctic activities, such as dog sledding, heading out on snow scooters, having dinner around an open fire or going for a walk while gazing at the Northern Lights or the Midnight Sun. Cold landscape – warm heart

The Icehotel is exclusively created using natural and local resources, namely water from the Torne River that runs past the hotel. During the spring, the hotel melts, returning the art that it has borrowed. During the summer months, the sun shines almost all day long in Jukkasjärvi. It’s the ideal starting point for the 800-sqm solar panels that provide the electricity needed to cook in the kitchen and provide cooling at the hotel. The Icehotel also offers a variety of wonderful places to eat, both indoors in a warm and cosy setting, and outdoors around the fire, allowing you to gaze up at the starlit sky!
