1. Luleå archipelago
If you are visiting Luleå in the summer you must not miss the archipelago. Take the comfortable tour boat out to Sandön and spend a day at the popular Klubbviken Havsbad, or why not experience a real archipelago atmosphere furthest out at sea on Brändöskär. Do not miss the popular island Kluntarna with its famous rock formation Kluntgubben, or Junkön where you will find a unique octagonal windmill from the 18th century, an archipelago museum and a cosy café.

UNESCO World Heritage
2. Gammelstad Church Town
Located just outside Luleå city centre, Gammelstad Church Town is one of Luleå's most visited attractions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you will find hundreds of red cottages and in the middle there is a medieval stone church from the 15th century. When you are here you should take the opportunity to visit The open-air museum Hägnan. During the summer the museum offers plenty of activities for the whole family, and at the museum's farm you can also meet animals.

3. Swimming spots in Luleå
When the sun is shining nothing compares to a day at the beach – and Luleå has plenty of great beaches to choose from. Within walking distance of the city centre you will find the popular beach Gültzauudden. If you prefer a larger beach with more space, Lulviksbadet is a great option. Storsand, located near Storheden, offers a wide sandy beach with shallow water that is perfect for the whole family.
