The story behind the hotel
The hotel is housed in an old doctor’s villa from 1921, and legend has it that Sister Gerda, a nurse who once lived and worked here, still roams the halls. She is said to pass through a wall where a door once stood, making her way up to her former quarters on the second floor.
Both guests and locals in Umeå claim to have seen the nurse rush through the vanished doorway. Staff say she is harmless – but she has never truly left the place.
Would you dare to face Sister Gerda – if she appears?
