Rows of red theater seats face a stage with closed curtains in a warmly lit, wooden-walled auditorium, creating an inviting atmosphere for a performance.

Conference hotels and meeting rooms in Gothenburg

Gothenburg offers a well-established setting for meetings and events in Sweden, where strong transport connections, modern conference and exhibition infrastructure, and a compact city centre support events of many formats.

A major hub for meetings in Scandinavia

Gothenburg has long been recognised as one of Scandinavia’s key cities for meetings, conferences and trade fairs. As Sweden’s second-largest city and an important industrial and commercial centre, it combines international accessibility with a well-developed events infrastructure and a hospitality sector adapted to professional gatherings.
The city is easily reached via Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, which connects the region to major European hubs. At the same time, Gothenburg Central Station links the city with Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo through Sweden’s main rail network. For conference planners, this combination keeps travel straightforward for both Nordic and international delegates.
Gothenburg’s compact city centre also contributes to its reputation as a practical meeting destination. Many conference hotels, restaurants and cultural venues are located within easy reach of one another, helping organisers create programmes that move smoothly between sessions, dinners and networking events.

Conference venue, exhibition and meeting facilities

Conference hotels in Gothenburg offer a broad range of professional meeting environments suited to workshops, board meetings, seminars and larger conferences with accommodation. Across the city, planners will find meeting rooms designed for both smaller strategy sessions and large-scale corporate events.
Meeting facilities include modern AV equipment, flexible layouts and breakout rooms that allow programmes to move between presentations, discussions and group work. Hybrid meetings are widely supported, enabling organisations to connect participants on site with colleagues joining remotely.
Gothenburg is also recognised for its established conference and exhibition infrastructure. Large conference venues, congress centres and exhibition halls make it possible to host industry conferences, trade fairs and corporate events that bring together participants from across Sweden, the wider Nordic region and the rest of the world.

Corporate events and networking opportunities

Gothenburg also offers strong opportunities for corporate events, networking programmes and industry gatherings. The city’s long-standing trade fair and congress culture makes it particularly well suited to professional events, while its compact layout allows organisers to combine structured meeting sessions with social elements in a natural way.
For teambuilding and informal programme elements, Gothenburg offers several options that are distinctive to the city. A Paddan boat tour provides a relaxed shared experience on the canals, while Liseberg offers a lively setting for team gatherings, hosted evening events or incentive-style programme elements. The city’s cultural scene also adds value, with museums, performance venues and architectural landmarks creating opportunities for curated experiences alongside the meeting agenda.
Restaurants, waterfront districts and central event venues support business dinners, receptions and informal networking between conference sessions. Spa facilities can also add value for companies planning executive retreats or multi-day programmes with space for both discussion and recovery.
Because conference hotels, meeting facilities and many social venues are located within easy reach of one another, Gothenburg makes it possible to combine meetings, exhibitions and evening programmes without unnecessary logistical complexity.
