Industrial history & natural design

The hotel name is a nod to the industrial history of the area that formed part of the Fröa Mine in Åre, one of Sweden’s biggest copper mines until the early 1900s. Today, the area is better known for its freshly groomed slopes and the fantastic mountain landscape. Copperhill Mountain Lodge is a member of Design Hotels™ and has been constructed to naturally blend into the beautiful surroundings, with lots of stone and wood, as well as open spaces to allow in plenty of light and showcase the spectacular collection of art, creating a wonderful atmosphere all throughout the hotel.

A dream destination for skiers & nature lovers

Strap on your skis right outside the hotel and head off to explore Åre’s fabulous slopes! At the end of the day, you can take the Copperhill Express lift back to the hotel to relax in front of a crackling open fire. Off-piste enthusiasts can take a helicopter up to the peaks from the hotel’s helipad. During the summer, there are plenty of beautiful mountain trails to discover – berry baskets, hiking poles and maps are available in the reception.
