Beitostølen is part of Valdres’ rich cultural landscape. At Valdres Folk Museum you can explore one of Norway’s largest open-air collections of historic buildings and traditions. The area is also home to medieval stave churches such as Hegge and Lomen, adding depth to a visit that combines nature, culture and activity.

A popular ski destination

In winter, the slopes at Beitostølen Ski Centre are ideal for families, while Raudalen Alpine Centre offers steeper runs for experienced skiers. With more than 300 kilometres of groomed cross-country trails, the area is a true skiing mecca, and Beitostølen Stadium hosts the annual World Cup opener, Beitosprinten. Visitors can also enjoy dog sledding, snowshoeing and ice fishing.

Summer adventures

Beitostølen changes character with the seasons, and summer transforms the village into a hub for outdoor life. The activity park Beitostølen Summer Park offers a wide range of family-friendly activities, while hikers can choose from local trails to iconic routes such as Besseggen Ridge and Bitihorn mountain. Synshorn Via Ferrata combines climbing with breathtaking views, and mountain bikers can explore the dedicated trails in the Beitostølen Trail Arena. The nearby lakes invite kayaking, canoeing and fishing.
