Very nice attention from the personnel. Seems they know the business of hospitality. Looking for more Clarion from now on.

Good location, great breakfast. Staff are friendly. Room was wrilly dirty. Staff dont clean the room as 4 star hotels should be cleaned. Found used medical injection on the floor next to the bed. Also floors under the beds are dirty. Found used nicotine pouches under bed.

Firstly I have never written a negative review before. My treatment at this hotel was appalling. I was abused in a very bad way by restaurant staff when going to breakfast 15 minutes early. It was Easter Sunday and hotel changed breakfast from 6:30am to 8am. Staff at reception day prior suggested I go to breakfast early as I had an 8am all day tour. As I was on tour I tried talking via app. I did get a very bland apology from a staff member via the app. Treatment was so bad – hotel should have got relevant staff member to apologise. Or perhaps a sincere chat with a manager or a sincere handwritten note. If I had spoken to hotel staff the way they spoke to me – security would have been called and probably asked to leave. My conversation in the app was cold on there part andi felt they were sweeping under the carpet. Do not stay at this hotel as if something goes wrong – you will not be supported.

This hotel is in a great location overlooking the Bergen Harbor, and walking distance from everything. The room was quiet, spacious and well-appointed, although could have used a bit more lighting once the sun went down. We liked having a small balcony overlooking the harbor. The bathroom was very nice; the shower was kind of small but manageable. The included breakfast was very good. We would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at this fabulous hotel many times, it is without doubt our "go to" hotel in downtown Bergen - for all the right reasons. For starters, the front desk staff is incredible attentive and kind - and I must mention Pernille as a standout. She is always smiling, always in a wonderful mood and always with a good laugh -- she just takes care of the small and big stuff-with such ease and willingness. . She makes you feel like family, every time, and it is so very welcoming to see her behind the front desk when we arrive when we arrive good and tired from our inbound flights from the U.S.A. She alone would be reason enough to stay here, but others at the front desk (Sarah) also shows that they really care. Rooms and beds are very nice, and the breakfasts - ahhhh- how enjoyable to take that morning hour with fresh and plentiful and varied breakfast foods. The staff in the breakfast room, who constantly cleans up or empty dishes, do so with a smile and with warmth, with a nod and a welcoming smile-all the time. Do yourself a favor and stay at this wonderful hotel and it will be my prediction that you as well will find your permanent happy place by the water in downtown historic Bergen and even feel like you may have just visited family for a few days.
