Sommerro is located on Solli plass in Frogner, central Oslo, near the Royal Palace and Nationaltheatret. The hotel is in the former Oslo Lysverker headquarters from 1931 and combines historic architecture and Art Deco design with restaurants, culture and relaxation at Vestkantbadet. Come for an overnight stay, dinner, a concert or time at the spa – and discover a place you will not want to leave.

Whether you are in Oslo for a holiday, a conference or an evening out, Sommerro has everything you need. The Royal Palace, Nationaltheatret and Aker Brygge are within walking distance, with tram and bus stops near the hotel. From Oslo Airport, you can take Flytoget or a regular train to Nationaltheatret station, around a ten-minute walk from the hotel.

Sommerro is a place for everyone. Locals and visitors come together in a relaxed atmosphere beneath Per Krohg’s large mural, which tells the story of the building’s past as the Oslo Lysverker headquarters. In collaboration with the city’s heritage office, the building has been restored to its original style and opened to the public. This sense of history continues in the well-equipped hotel rooms with modern Art Deco design. Since opening, Sommerro has become one of Oslo’s most distinctive hotels. It was named Norway’s best hotel at the Grand Travel Award in 2024 and 2025 and awarded a Michelin Key in 2025 and 2026.
