Lonely Christmas Tree Seeking Presents
Christmas is a time for warmth and magic, but joy is not a given for everyone. That's why Strawberry collects gifts every year in all hotel lobbies during the pre-Christmas season. The gifts are given to children and adults who need something extra to bring them joy. Find out how you can contribute here!
Strawberry wants to make Christmas magical for as many people as possible, and you can help by donating a Christmas gift. Every year, the hotels are transformed into collection points where gifts are received from donors, and sent on to children and adults in the local community who need Christmas joy the most.
Since 2012, our guests' generosity has helped collect over 500,000 Christmas gifts!
How to participate
- Buy or donate a Christmas present – just make sure it’s in good condition! This could even include an experience. A cinema ticket is a much appreciated gift that suits all ages. You can also donate a Christmas card for 50 kr to be hung in a Christmas tree at several of our hotels. The proceeds will then be donated in full to the hotel’s selected partner organisations.
- Please make sure not to wrap the present you are donating, as we cannot accept wrapped items for security reasons. The giving of food and drink as a gift is also not encouraged.
- Visit a hotel near you and leave your gift. All presents should be handed to a member of staff in the reception and must not be placed directly under the tree.
The dates during which you can leave a present vary from hotel to hotel.
Where do the presents go?
All received Christmas presents are donated to local supporting charities chosen by the hotel. They in turn make sure that the presents reach children in need. Donations are made to a variety of organisations including Talita, Svenska Kyrkan, Stockholms Stadsmission, Frälsningsarmen, Blå Kors and Rädda Barnen.
Every December, the entire Nordic region is brimming with festive spirit helping thousands of people to have a better Christmas.
A big thank you to all those who have contributed and to those who will do so this year!
