We want to give our guests the freedom to choose what works best for each stay. Since not everyone wants breakfast every day, you now have the flexibility to book with or without it. The choice is completely yours.
Is this change being made to increase profit?
No. Breakfast is not being removed; it is becoming optional. This allows us to offer a more competitive price for those who do not require breakfast, ensuring you only pay for what you actually want.
Breakfast used to be included – will I now have to pay more?
We understand that breakfast is a cherished part of the hotel experience, and it is certainly not going away. The difference is that you now have the freedom to choose. As many of our guests depart early or prefer to explore local eateries, this change allows us to offer a lower entry price for your stay, giving you the flexibility to add breakfast only when it suits your schedule.
I have an existing booking with Strawberry. Is it affected?
No, your current booking is not affected. Breakfast remains included in all stays booked before this change. The option to exclude breakfast only applies to new bookings where you actively choose a room-only rate. You can view your stay details at any time in the Strawberry app or under My bookings.
Can I still get breakfast if I want it?
Of course. You can choose a rate that includes breakfast when you book, or simply add it later via the app or directly at the hotel.
What are my breakfast options after booking?
If your current booking does not include breakfast, you can easily add it to your stay at any time. Simply open your booking in the Strawberry app to add it as an extra, or let us know when you arrive at the hotel. We recommend booking in advance to secure the best rate and ensure your table in the restaurant.
What is the breakfast price?
The price for breakfast varies depending on the country, hotel brand, and specific hotel. The price also depends on whether breakfast is purchased before or after check-in.
What is the breakfast price for kids?
If breakfast is not included in your rate, the following discounts apply:
- Infants (0–2 years): Free of charge (100% discount)
- Children (3–9 years): 50% discount
- Children (10 years and above): Standard price
At which hotels are rooms without breakfast available at Strawberry?
The option to book rooms without breakfast is being rolled out gradually during spring 2026. Comfort Hotel® Xpress has already offered rooms without breakfast for some time. Not all Strawberry hotels will offer this option from day one. When making a booking, you can check the available rates for your chosen hotel to see what applies for your stay. You can also always check the specific hotel page online strawberryhotels.com to see whether that hotel offers rooms without breakfast.
Can I choose breakfast for specific guests or days only?
When booking via our website or app, the choice to include breakfast applies to all guests in the room for the duration of the stay. The same applies to breakfast add-ons purchased online.
If you prefer breakfast for only certain guests or specific days, we recommend booking your room without breakfast. You can then tailor your stay by adding breakfast separately through our Customer Service team or directly at reception.
I am not sure if my booking includes breakfast – how can I check?
You can find details regarding your chosen rate and breakfast inclusions in your booking confirmation email. Alternatively, you can view your stay details at any time in the Strawberry app or under My bookings. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our Customer Service team.
I have booked via a travel agency. Can I still purchase breakfast before arrival?
Yes! Even if you booked through Booking.com, Expedia, or another travel agency, you will receive a pre-stay communication from us giving you the option to add breakfast to your stay before you arrive.
Is there an "Early Bird" discount if I purchase breakfast at check-in?
How will you know if I have paid for breakfast when I arrive at the restaurant?
Simply provide your room number to our team at the restaurant entrance. We will verify your booking details instantly – no paper vouchers or physical receipts are required.

If I receive a room upgrade upon arrival, is breakfast then included?
A room upgrade provides you with a higher room category, but it does not change the terms of your original booking. If you have booked a stay without breakfast, this will remain the case regardless of any upgrade you may receive.

Will members still receive breakfast benefits?
Yes, your perks are here to stay. Strawberry members will continue to enjoy breakfast-related benefits, such as 2-for-1 breakfast on Mondays and daily free coffee. You can find the full overview of your specific benefits in the Strawberry app.
As a Gold or Platinum member, do I receive a special price or complimentary breakfast?
While there is no specific discounted or complimentary breakfast for Gold and Platinum members, your exclusive loyalty perks remain unchanged. You can still enjoy popular benefits such as 2-for-1 breakfast on Mondays and your daily free coffee. Simply check the Strawberry app for a full overview of the perks available during your stay.
Can I earn or spend Spenn on breakfast?
You earn Spenn on the total value of your room booking, regardless of the rate you choose. At this stage, it is not possible to earn or spend Spenn on breakfast when it is purchased separately as an add-on or at the hotel.
Can I use my Spenn to pay for breakfast?
At this stage, it is not possible to use Spenn as a payment method for breakfast at reception, in the restaurant, or as an add-on. Spenn can currently only be earned and spent on the room booking itself.
Does a Superdeal include breakfast?
Yes! Breakfast is included in all Superdeal stays, with the exception of Admiral Hotel, Comfort Hotel® Xpress and Stopover.
