And even better: if you stay at one of our hotels, you'll have the perfect base for your visit.
A group of mates from Norway have journeyed from Oslo for a long weekend in Helsinki. They've chosen to stay at the Hotel Fabian.
"It's the perfect choice for us. Hotel Fabian is centrally located, has a hearty breakfast included, and spacious rooms – all at a great price," says Jørgen.
"And the staff are incredibly friendly, and service minded. They've made our weekend even better," adds Alexander.
Here are our top picks for overnight accommodation - for every occasion.
Clarion Hotel® Helsinki – A unique hotel with a pool and the best views in the city
Towering 16 stories high and boasting the best view in the Finnish capital from its Sky Room sky bar, the Clarion Hotel® Helsinki is a truly unique hotel in Finland. The hotel is located in the new, quiet, and trendy district of Busholmen, west of Helsinki. The city centre is just a short walk away, so you get the best of both worlds.
In addition to the stunning rooftop terrace at the Sky Room, the Clarion Hotel® Helsinki has a beautiful, heated rooftop pool. It's a must-visit for hotel guests. The Roof Top Pool and Terrace offers panoramic views in three directions. The hotel's sauna and gym are located on the same floor, so just sit back and enjoy the day. Access is, of course, free for hotel guests.
The hotel's two glass-clad towers are connected by a transparent glass walkway.
Clarion Hotel® Helsinki offers 425 modern rooms in a Nordic design. If you want accommodation with a little extra luxury, the hotel has several suites available, each with its unique touch.
If your stay in Helsinki involves meetings or conferences, the Clarion Hotel® Helsinki is the perfect hotel. There's a large number of conference rooms and meeting spaces, and a congress centre that can accommodate 1,000 participants.
In 2019, Clarion Hotel® Helsinki won best meeting facilities at the prestigious Evento Awards.
Hotel St. George – Finnish Luxury for Couples
Hotel St. George is one of Helsinki's most luxurious and venerable hotels. The oldest part of the hotel can trace its origins all the way back to the 1840s, so there is plenty of history within its walls. Since then, the hotel has undergone several upgrades, and today offers seven floors of luxury spread across 148 rooms and seven suites.
In addition to tastefully decorated rooms, Hotel St. George is widely known in the Finnish capital for its spa and fitness facilities. The complex has a holistic approach to spa treatments, focusing on the entire body. Here, you'll find everything you need for total relaxation and quality time with your significant other, including a variety of treatments and massages.
For the ultimate start to the day, Hotel St. George offers one of the city's best breakfast buffets. Freshly baked bread from the hotel's own bakery, St. George Bakery, is served. The latter also serves lunch throughout the day if you should get peckish. In the evening, you can have a gourmet Thai experience at star chef Tomi Björck's restaurant Boon Nam, located on the ground floor.
Checking out the hotel's Wintergarden Bar before your dinner is highly recommended. Its signature cocktail "Learning to fly" is an experience in itself and is served in a specially designed cocktail glass inspired by the Finnish artist Pekka Jylhä's work of the same name.
Speaking of art, Hotel St. George has around 400 works displayed in rooms and common areas. This, combined with a unique location in the centre of Helsinki and free bike rental for hotel guests, makes Hotel St. George the perfect base for exploring the Finnish capital with your partner.

Hotel Fabian – A Unique Hotel in the Gastronomic District
Gastronomic experiences might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Helsinki and Finland. The truth is that the easternmost capital of the Nordics is teeming with fantastic restaurants – and Hotel Fabian is the perfect starting point from which to explore them all.
This boutique hotel is located near Kasarmitori Square, an area that is constantly striving to be the home of Helsinki's best restaurants. Within a short walking distance, you will find the Michelin-starred Palace Restaurant, the hip, affordable, and impossible-to-book Baskeri & Basso, and the city's best steak at Gastrogrill Muré.
We should also mention the Georgian Rioni, fine dining at Savoy, French-Finnish-Asian bistro The Cock, and Italian pizza at Via Tribunali.
Drinks are best enjoyed at the "secret" cocktail bar, Trillby & Chadwick. Despite its central location, Hotel Fabian is situated on a quiet street. The hotel has 58 rooms, with a wide range of sizes that cater to everyone's needs. For example, if you're travelling with family or a larger group of friends, it's possible to get adjoining rooms where you have your own bedrooms, but a larger common area.
Some of the rooms also have their own kitchen.
A delightful breakfast is served until 11:00 on weekends, featuring fresh, organic produce. The baked goods are supplied by the legendary Kanniston Leipomo bakery.
GLO Hotel Airport – Perfect for Short Stays in Helsinki
Sometimes simplicity is key, and that's when GLO Hotel Airport is the perfect choice. The hotel is the only one located inside the terminal at Helsinki-Vantaa airport, making it an excellent choice if you have an early flight.
Given its close proximity to the terminal, the hotel doesn't offer its own breakfast service. Instead, it works closely with several of the airport's eateries and offers a variety of different options. That way, you can easily choose what suits you best.
Like other Strawberry hotels, all the rooms have a tasteful design and, of course, incredibly comfortable beds.
If you have a long wait before your next flight, GLO Hotel Airport has an excellent service: RestPods. The hotel has ten of these small rooms, perfect if you need a peaceful spot to work or relax before your journey continues. Designed for one to two people, each RestPod has a sofa bed, bed, and a small workspace, can be rented on an hourly basis, and come in different sizes.
Hotel F6 – When You're Travelling with Friends
Hip, trendy, and central are the three words that best describe Hotel F6. This boutique hotel is in the heart of Helsinki's city centre, a stone's throw from Kasamitori Square and Esplanade Park.
Stylishly decorated with 76 unique rooms, the hotel provides the perfect urban feel the ultimate weekend trip with friends requires. Here, you'll enjoy a breakfast based on organic products, a 24-hour gym, and a fantastic courtyard during the summer months. The courtyard can be used to enjoy delicious cocktails or carefully selected wines from the hotel bar, Runar. Named after the Finnish architect Runar Finnilä, the bar is the optimal place to start the evening before heading out into the night to explore the Finnish capital.
Guess what? There are three new hotels opening in Helsinki! Say hello to HOBO Helsinki, Clarion Hotel® Helsinki Airport and Comfort Hotel® Helsinki Airport. See you there!
Hotel Lilla Roberts – For the Design Conscious
Finland and Helsinki are world-famous for their design, something from which
Hotel Lilla Roberts has taken inspiration. The hotel is housed in a building that is somewhat rare - a former transformer station that was also once a police station (!).
The style is inspired by the Art Deco movement of the 1930s, offering 130 elegant and spacious rooms in the heart of Helsinki's design district, with a short distance to restaurants, shops, and attractions.
Breakfast is Nordic with a twist, focusing on organic and homemade food. Hotel Lilla Roberts also has its own bar, Bar Lilla e, and the restaurant Krog Roba, where you'll find one of Helsinki's best lunch and brunch options.
There's also a 24-hour gym that is free for hotel guests.
