Moominworld – an adventure for the whole family

Moominworld, also known as Moominland (or Muumimaailma in Finnish), is one of the Nordics’ most popular family attractions – a place where Tove Jansson’s beloved stories come to life. Step straight into Moominvalley and meet Moomintroll, Little My and many other familiar characters. The whole family can look forward to a magical summer day filled with play, laughter and performances for all ages.

  • Where is Moominworld located?

    The fairytale setting of Moominworld is on the island of Kailo, just outside Naantali in Finland. A footbridge from the harbour in Naantali’s Old Town leads directly to Moominworld.

  • How do you get to Moominworld?

    Travelling from Helsinki, you can reach Naantali and Moominworld in around two hours by car, bus or train.

  • You can also take the ferry from Stockholm to Turku, which is just a 20-minute journey from Naantali and Moominworld by car, bus or train.

Step into a world of stories

Enter a vibrant world where you can meet the characters, visit their homes and explore the story’s most charming corners. Step inside the iconic blue Moominhouse and wander through all five floors of the tower. Discover Fillyjonk’s house, the Invisible Ninni’s trail and many more places from Tove Jansson’s magical world.

Shows at Moominworld

For something a little extra, head to Theatre Emma for performances featuring the Moomins and their friends. You can also visit the Small Stage, the Puppet Theatre and Snufkin’s camp for more stories and adventures.

The beach at Moominworld

On the other side of the island, you’ll find a lovely beach where the whole family can enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea on warm summer days. There’s space for both play and relaxation – whether you fancy a picnic, building sandcastles or simply taking in the surroundings. Close to the beach, you’ll also find the Beach Café, offering snacks, cakes and refreshing drinks for both children and adults.

At Moominworld, you won’t go hungry. Across the park, you’ll find restaurants and cafés inspired by the stories. From buffet dining at Mamma’s Kitchen and burgers at Stinky’s Delight to Moomin-shaped waffles at Café Pappa’s Hat, as well as ice cream from Thingumy and Bob’s Ice Cream Bar.

Explore Naantali

Don’t miss the chance to explore Naantali during your visit to Moominworld. This charming archipelago town just outside Turku is known for its colourful wooden houses, winding lanes and welcoming harbour. In the Old Town, you can wander through historic streets, browse small shops and enjoy cafés overlooking the water. Don’t forget your swimwear – there are plenty of beaches and jetties for a refreshing dip.
